Who's Birthday? (by Jessie)

Micaiah's! Happy eleventh birthday Micaiah!

Here's what he's been up to so far today...

 Morning greeting with mom.

Snuggling on the couch with Jessie.

Admiring Samuel's art work given to him.

Playing with Legos he just opened with Samuel

Loving his photo of the moon from his aunt and uncle, Kathy and Miles!

If you'd like to know more about Micaiah's eleventh birthday check back later today, I will be adding more photos as the day goes on!

Along with a birthday we are also having the excitement of chicks hatching! We put 42 in the incubator, but so far we only have a dozen. If you are interested in purchasing some comment below or call us! They will be $2.00/chick.

First Signs of Spring (Jessie)

Next week (13-19) is SPRING break, but is spring really here? The winter has been very long and trying, so as spring break and April come we are searching for hope of new life. In just the last week the weather has gone from 20's to 60's which has been spectacular!

Daffodils sprouts are one of our first spring signs at Murmur Creek farm.
Samuel looked at my picture and shouted, "OH! OH! OH! OH!... DAFFODILS!"

Here are some other spring excitements...

Since it has been so "warm" (right now even mid-40's feels incredibly warm) we have  been able to let the chickens out for a longer period of time, and they stay out!

Asher got a spring hair cut from a local dog salon.

I caught sight of a pileated woodpecker, however it would not stay still long enough for me to get a good picture of it! Oh, well.

In our front yard there is a low land area that floods most springs. This spring though it is very large, we have named it "Lake Landis," we put a lot of thought into it! My brothers and I created a raft to travel across Lake Landis. It is made of a pallet with milk jugs tied to the bottom and a fallen branch as a paddle! :) With a far away look in Samuel's eyes he searches his destination (left).

Time to "walk back to shore" (landing the raft was just too easy!).

...and to wrap it all up, the photographer's selfie.
THE END

Keep checking this next week to see what else we're up to. There should be a new post soon!
